Further learning in Ireland

 

Under the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) of Ireland, primary, secondary and tertiary education can be divided into 10 levels. NFQ level 7 or above are degree programmes, while NFQ level 6 is similar to high diploma in some countries.

After completing the FETAC level 6 programme, the High Education Links Scheme (HELS) enable learners who have achieved a FETAC award to apply for higher education in a number of higher education institutions (HEI). The information on the HELS can be found in the FETAC website.

On completion of the IIHCS programmes at FETAC level 6, you are eligible to apply directly to institutes of technology or universities offering level 7 or level 8 programmes. This is subject to availability of places and the college policy on admission. IIHCS' counselors will advise students and follow through. For more information, please visit the following websites:
