If you want to become a chef then professional cookery is the course for you! It will equip you with the necessary experience to work in the Irish, European and international catering business. Graduates from this course are working in top class establishments around the world. You will have FETAC Level 6 certification on completion.

Career Opportunities

This course is designed to prepare students for a career in the Hotel and Catering industry. This will lead them to senior positions as Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Head Chef or Executive Chef.

 

Follow on Studies

Graduates may proceed to second year of the Bachelor of Business in Culinary Arts (Full-Time).

Students are required to undertake a 12-week (minimum) work placement at the end of Year 1 and Year 2. Successful completion of these placements is an integral part of the certification process.

This is a two-year full-time course.
