Bar Skills (Major Award)

The Bar Skills Programme functions as part of the National Vocational Certification framework. It is designed to meet the professional skills development needs of those aspiring to a career in the Licensed Trade. On completing the program, participants will ideally progress to the HETAC National Certificate in Bar Management, and finally to the National Diploma in Business Studies: Bar Management.

Duration: 1 year

The course is modular in nature, and requires the completion of the following eight modules:

• Lounge and Wine Service
• Bar Food Production and Service
• Health, Safety and Law
• Professional Development
• Sales and Bar Control
• Customer Skills
• Integrated Professional Work Practice
